More about our speaker, Christine Jardine MP:

Before entering politics, Christine was an Edinburgh-based journalist and broadcaster who had written for the Scotsman and worked for the BBC.  Elected as MP in 2017, she is Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland and speaks on Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in the House of Commons.

From 6pm - Drinks reception - a glass of sparkling wine or soft drink on arrival

From 7pm - Three course meal, with a glass of wine, followed by a talk from our guest speaker and the prize draws

 

There will be the opportunity to pre-order and pay for additional wine during the drinks reception

 

Car Parking: The Spires Hotel make a charge of £4 per car for guests attending events, which is to be paid via the main Reception on the night.  

Public Transport: The Oxford Bus Company buses X3 and X13 serve the Abingdon Road (Lake Street bus stop), southbound from Oxford Railway Station and St Aldates, Oxford, and from Abingdon northbound.  

Park and Ride options:  The 300 bus shuttles between two of Oxford's Park and Ride sites, via the Abingdon Road.  Park at Redbridge, if you are arriving from Abingdon; or Peartree, if you're arriving from Kidlington.

Starters

Duo of melon with peppered strawberries and crème fraîche (vegetarian and can be gluten free)

OR 

Chicken Caesar salad, croutons, anchovies, Parmesan shavings

Main Courses

Slow cooked lamb shoulder, fondant potatoes, redcurrant and rosemary jus (can be gluten free)

OR

Potato gnocchi in a tomato sauce (vegetarian)

Desserts

Profiteroles, white and dark chocolate sauce

OR

Cinnamon and orange poached pear, raspberry sorbet (can be gluten free)

 

Food allergies and intolerances - the hotel inform us that:

"Detailed specific dish information on allergens is available on request.  Please advise us if you have any allergies.
