With the Government looking to provide more licenses for medicinal cannabis, is it time for the UKs approach to drugs to be more liberal?
What are the problems with current policy?
How does drug use impact on health, crime, housing and employment and what changes should be made to keep people safe?
We are lucky to have an excellent panel for what promises to be an interesting debate about drugs policy, what the Liberal Democrat position is and should be.
- Lord Brian Paddick - Formerly Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and a candidate for Mayor of London, now the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Home Affairs in the House of Lords.
- Anne-Marie Cockburn - Campaigner for safer drugs laws and education (www.anyoneschild.org)
- Eleanor Vogel - Oxford based GP who has recently completed a Master's in Health Policy, Planning and Financing
There is a charge of £5 for entry to the debate to cover the running costs. A light supper will be available for an additional £5. And there will of course be a raffle and liquid refreshments available. Any surplus made will help fund the local Lib Dem's election campaigning for 2019.
Seacourt Hall is above Coop in Botley and is on a number of bus routes from Oxford and Abingdon. There is also free parking available. More info about the venue is available at: www.seacourthall.org.uk/find-seacourt-hall
This Villages Branch AGM will be in the meeting room at Seacourt Hall from 6:30 - 7pm so local members can attend both!
Please RSVP so we know how many to cater for.
