Scrap the £1k Homeless Fine

Senior Oxford Labour councillor, John Tanner, said: “I would like to go up to some of these rough sleepers and say ‘you are a disgrace’”.

This follows Labour's decision to introduce fines of up to £1,000 on the homeless in the city centre. Labour would rather shift the homeless out of sight rather than deal with the root causes.

The Liberal Democrats have long been campaigning for greater funding to homeless support services, and an end to Labour's £1,000 fine.

I/We believe that the Labour-run Oxford City Council's £1,000 homeless fine is wrong and should be scrapped immediately.
