Tim Bearder is standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Banbury and Bicester Constituency at the next General Election.
Tim has lived in Oxfordshire for over 40 years and worked at BBC Oxford for 12 of those, exploring the county, getting to know its people and politics.
He grew up in the constituency village of Wendlebury and went to Bicester School before going on to study Microbiology at Plymouth University.
He has been instrumental in establishing BBC Radio Oxford’s new music programme.
In 2012 he established his own successful film production company and now produces advertisements for blue chip companies such as Lloyds, BT and M&S.
He remains extremely passionate about local green initiatives and is a member of the Westmill Solar co-operative and Oxfordshire's organic farm collective Cultivate.
Since 2018 Tim has served on Oxfordshire County Council where he has seen first hand the disastrous consequences of Tory mismanagement on everything from children's centres to rural bus services.
Tim is also a member of the Lib Dem run Eastleigh Borough and has a wealth of experience running an effective council that hasn't increased local taxes in 17 years while still not cutting services - an inspirational model that could be adopted locally.
