Why I joined the Liberal Democrats – with Lord Newby
Dick Newby worked for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), worked as press officer to Paddy Ashdown and was Charles Kennedy's Chief of Staff during his period as Leader. Dick became a peer in 1997 and more recently served as LibDem Chief Whip in the House of Lords. Lord Newby will speak about why he is a party member then take part in a Q&A Session. It should be an enjoyable evening and a chance to discuss the issues you are passionate about with like-minded people.
If you would like to stay for supper and a glass of wine after the Q&A there will be a charge of £8 payable on the night. Any profit made will go towards local campaigns.
Please RSVP to emily.smith@oxwablibdems.org.uk stating whether you have any particular dietary requirements.
