30mph limit for North Abingdon

With over 1,000 new homes being built at North Abingdon, Dunmore Road and Audlett Drive will no longer be an outer ring road but a street being used more by people walking and cycling between the new development, and schools, shops and the town centre.

Traffic noise and speeding here already causes disruption, it's hard for drivers to turn right out of the residential streets and dangerous to cross the road on foot.

Despite local LibDem councillors asking for the speed limit to be reduced as part of the planning permission, the County Council did not insist on this when outline planning permission for the new homes was granted. LibDem councillors are backing local resident Nathan Ley's campaign to get the county council to think again.
