Otmoor - Calum Miller

Calum has lived in Oxfordshire for most of his adult life. He now lives with his family in Islip, where he is heavily involved in the local community, including as chairman of the governors at Dr South’s primary school. Calum is also a volunteer junior rugby coach at Gosford All Blacks.

During the pandemic, Calum helped set up and administered a fund to support those negatively affected by COVID.

Calum’s professional experience is in public policy making. He was a civil servant for 13 year, working for the Treasury, Foreign Office, Department for International Development and Cabinet Office. Since 2012, he has been a senior administrator at Oxford University, where he has helped to establish the Blavatnik School of Government.

Calum is a keen cyclist, runner and walker, and is passionate about responding to the climate emergency and protecting our environment. His experience in education and of volunteering with young people motivates him to ensure that every young person has the best start in life.

As a community activist, he firmly believes that decisions are often best made at local levels and that, by listening respectfully and committing to find solutions, we can make things better together.
