Katherine Miles - Summertown

Katherine lives close to the city centre and is passionate about improving air quality and infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrian’s in Oxford. As a mother of two young children, she navigates the city's streets via cargo bike. Katherine has effectively campaigned on open drug dealing in Oxford, which led to her setting up a neighbourhood watch group and co-developing a community initiative called East Oxford-Report It.

Originally from the North West of England, Katherine studied Anthropology at Durham University and an MSC International Development at the University of Amsterdam, before working internationally for many years before returning to the UK in 2014.

Professionally, Katherine has conducted policy research and advises international organisations on tackling gender and social inequalities and climate change to achieve sustainable development. She will advocate the city takes bold environmental action to tackle climate change and transition to a low carbon economy and advocate for measures to improve active travel.
