Proposed closure of pharmacy at Lostock Place, Ladygrove

Your Liberal Democrat councillors are concerned about the proposal to close the Boots pharmacy at Lostock Place. We will be writing to NHS England to urge them to reject the application and would be grateful if you would add your name to the list of objectors. The closing date for objections is 25 January.

Ref PCC-201718-102

We are aware of an application from Boots UK Limited to close the pharmacy at 5 Lostock Place, Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 7XT and to consolidate this with the existing pharmacy at Unit 40, 48 The Orchard Centre, Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 7LG.

As residents of the Ladygrove area of Didcot we wish to strongly object to this application.

We feel this will have a detrimental effect on the residents of this large and growing estate, especially those who are sick or elderly. The relocation of the local pharmacy to the Orchard Centre will cause great inconvenience in terms of a much longer walk, or the use of a car at a time when we are all concerned about the increase of greenhouse gases. Parking at the Orchard Centre can be difficult at times and this will only be exacerbated by extra traffic.

We ask you to reject this application unless or until an alternative provider can be found.
