During the consultation on the resurfacing of Northcourt Road, local people asked for further improvements for cyclists and school children, which were sadly not included in the scheme. A missed opportunity.
However, the Local Lib Dems are now trying to get the County Council to install a controlled pedestrian crossing outside Dunmore Primary and implement a 20mph limit to make it safer for children and young people to walk and cycle to Dunmore, Fitzharry's, John Mason Schools as well as Abingdon College.
More needs to be done to improve safety on this busy school route. We call on the County Council to:
Reduce the speed limit on the Northcourt Road to 20mph
Install a formal pedestrian crossing outside Dunmore School
