YouGov survey results highlight serious sexual harassment problem

A YouGov survey reveals that almost every young woman in the UK has been subjected to sexual harassment. The research for UN Women UK found that among women aged 18-24, 97% said they had been sexually harassed, while 80% of women of all ages said they had experienced sexual harassment in public spaces

The findings also indicate a lack of faith in authorities' ability to deal with sexual harassment - 96% of respondents did not report incidents, with 45% saying it would not change anything.

The PCC must ask the Chief Constable to communicate now what is being done to make our streets safe for all.

Murder and abduction are rare events, but as the survey results above have shown, rape, sexual assault and molestation of women are all too common crimes.

The anger is understandable: it must not be ignored.
