This Police iT record deletion Blunder not acceptable


‘It’s already the case that far too many crimes go unsolved and too many criminals are never identified. This fiasco risks making our communities less safe and the police’s job even harder, at a time when they are already under enormous pressure.’

Cllr. John Howson, The Liberal Democrat Police and Crime Commissioner candidate for Thames Valley, has reacted ot the news that 150,000 records were accidentally deleted from the Police National ComputerJohn said: ‘This Police Blunder not acceptable: it is another Tory IT failure.’

John added that ‘People will rightly be alarmed that a blunder on this scale is even possible’. 

‘It’s already the case that far too many crimes go unsolved and too many criminals are never identified. This fiasco risks making our communities less safe and the police’s job even harder, at a time when they are already under enormous pressure.’ Cllr Howson asked how many records deleted were in the Thames Valley police area."
